THE boss you want to conquer as fast as possible to get that sweet speed gear and critical strike. Chimera's kit is not overly complex — this is more of a DPS race than anything.

Starving Devil

(Passive Effect) Removes 2 debuff(s) and increases Critical Hit Chance by 3% each turn. When the caster is granted a Barrier, reduces Weakness Gauge damage taken by 100%. Increases Critical Hit Chance of all enemies by 100% and reduces Critical Damage by 85%. When hit, increases Priority by 10%, and at the end of the turn, reduces Chain Points of the enemy by 15. Reduces Weakness Gauge damage taken from non-FireFire enemies by 50%, increases damage dealt to them, and reduces damage taken from them. Reduces damage dealt to FireFire enemies and increases damage taken from them. Cursed/fixed damage taken by the Boss does not exceed 10000.

Enraged

Single Target

Becomes Enraged every 4 turns and increases Attack by 5%. This effect stacks up to 3 times and lasts until the caster is inflicted with Break. Enraged: Recovers Weakness Gauge by 10% and gains a Barrier equal to 10% of Max Health every turn. Enraged lasts for 4 turns and reduces damage taken. Chomp Chomp Gulp: Used when Enraged ends. Attacks all enemies and heals the caster by 50% of Max Health.

Tactical Tips

  • If you can't kill her before she enrages, you'll have a much harder time surviving.
  • Thankfully, the FireFire element nowadays has so many good tools to deal with this boss.
  • Chimera has relatively low Health but significantly higher Defense so is pretty much required.
  • Having your DPS units on Penetration % accessories will greatly improve your damage.
  • Chimera's passive significantly reduces your team's Crit Damage by 85% but in return gives all units 100% Crit Chance.
  • To take advantage of this, you DO NOT need to put any crit chance on your units. Focus purely on Attack and Crit Damage.
  • Abuse Rogue's CharmRogue's Charm on every unit since they will proc CP generation every time. Sage's CharmSage's Charm on FireFire units work as well.
  • Speed is important due to the boss's ability to gain 10% whenever attacked.
  • Ideally, you want your entire team to be above 175 Speed for Stage 12 (185 for Stage 13).
