Strategy Guide

Ars Nova requires careful buff management and AoE damage to handle core adds. The boss gains a buff that must be removed or stolen, deals increasing fixed damage each turn, and stops taking weakness gauge damage if your Chain Gauge reaches 150 or more.

The Boy Who Dreamed of Becoming a Musician

(Passive Effect) Does not take Weakness Gauge damage when the enemy has 150 or more Chain Points. Increases damage taken from DarkDark enemies and reduces damage dealt to them. Against non-DarkDark enemies, reduces Weakness Gauge damage taken by 50%, increases damage dealt, and reduces damage taken.

The First King's Comrade

(Passive Effect) At the start of the turn, deals fixed damage to all enemies. This damage increases by 600 each turn. Additionally, fixed damage increases by 1500 for each surviving Inferior Core. After attacking, grants a Barrier for 1 turn(s). Barrier strength is equal to the fixed damage dealt to the enemy. Cursed/fixed damage taken by the Boss does not exceed 10000.

Enraged

All Allies

Becomes Enraged when Health drops to 30% of Max Health or lower. Enraged: Grants an irremovable effect to the caster that increases Attack and reduces damage taken for 3 turns and recovers 30% Weakness Gauge. Enraged lasts for 3 turns. Cantata: Used when Enraged ends. Deals heavy damage to all enemies. If enraged within 4 turns, grants 80 Chain Points.

Tactical Tips

  • Only DarkDark units deal full WG damage - non-dark units deal 50% less WG damage.
  • The boss does not take WG damage when your team has 150+ CP. Keep your CP below this threshold.
  • The boss summons Inferior Cores after each attack. Each surviving core increases the boss's fixed damage by 1500.
  • Killing cores remove 15 CP each.
  • At 30% HP, the boss enrages for 3 turns and then uses Cantata dealing lethal damage. Defeat it or break it before Cantata triggers.
  • If the boss enrages within 4 turns of battle start, your team gains 80 CP - this can help trigger chain skills faster.
